In the International Year of Chemistry the companies of Lapi Group, FGL International, Figli di Guido Lapi, Toscolapi and Finikem did not miss the opportunity Federchimica offered them and decided to take part in the event named “Fabbriche Aperte” (Open Companies) which let the “outside” world enter and visit the companies and factories.
On 17 and 19 May, from 8,30 until 18,30, the above mentioned companies will open their doors to public and students groups from the Istituto Commerciale C. Cattaneo di San Miniato (PI), oriented to tanning-chemical studies, will visit the industrial and commercial sites.
The students will be accompanied in a real tour: each company with its representatives will explain characteristics of chemicals used in the different steps of leather production, from tanning until finishing phase, paying particular attention to the safety aspects of working methods and environment rules. The groups will be able to see the production sites and the laboratories, where production and research are developed together, matching innovation and respect for environment.
It is not the first time Lapi Group is taking part in such events or is promoting them. For its 60° anniversary the company is organising, together with Lions of San Miniato and ASL 11, an educational project relating the use/abuse of alcohol and smoke and their consequences.
There will be a prize contest “Bacchus, Tobacco and ……ash” addressed to all the first classes of secondary schools of the “Tuscany Leather Area” (32 classes, about 850 students).
The best spot advertising against smoke and alcohol will be prized on May 28.
Lapi Group wishes to help the dialogue with the young generation and to have an active engagement in its origin area looking at the future
